Mary Ann Heil, age 89 of Bagley, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 23, 2022, at home watching the Wyalusing sunset, surrounded by her family. She was born in Atlantic, IA on September 25, 1933, the daughter of Richard and Leona M. (Mailander) Thompson. She graduated from Atlantic High School with the class of 1951. She then attended the College of St. Mary in Omaha, NE before beginning her career as a counselor and social worker. She worked at Job Service Turner Manufacturing, and the Department of Corrections, all in Cedar Rapids, IA. Mary married Carl Heil in 1973 in Cedar Rapids. She worked with her husband as the office manager for their accounting firm for many years. Mary enjoyed boating, water skiing, and spending time on the water with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting. Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years Carl; their children Jerene (Arland) Mundorf, Carl (Sandy) Heil Jr., Tony (Traci) Mundorf, Chris (Sharon) Mundorf, and Brad Mundorf; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard Mundorf, and her siblings Bill Thompson and Patricia Meyers.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Prairie du Chien, Rev. Patrick Kelley officiating with inurnment in the church columbarium. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
