Michael Owen Check

Michael O. Check, age 71 of Eastman, WI passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his home in Eastman, WI. He was born on January 30, 1953, to Leonard and Laurayne (Shinko) Check. He graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1971 before attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison agricultural school. Michael worked for Zabel Equipment in Eastman, WI for 19 years before returning home to work on the family farm on Swatek Ridge in Steuben, WI. He enjoyed deer and racoon hunting. He is survived by his children Andrew (Dacia) Check, Amy Erickson, Andrea (Buck) Crubel, Sandra Warner, Stephanie (Ryan) Achenbach; his mother Laurayne Check; 3 sisters Ellen (Ken) Olson, Gail (Greg) Vandermuse, and Kimberly (Thomas) Gerlach; 15 grandchildren Adeline, Silas, Malachi, Analise, Harley, Carson, Eli, Kyle, Ashton, Kaylee, Jayden, Derrick, Brystan, Aralynn, and Korrie; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Leonard M. Check.

A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, WI, Fr. Chinnappan Pelavendran officiating with inurnment in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and also at the church on Wednesday an hour prior to the Mass.
