Michael Dahl, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 9, 2021 in his home. He was born on February 17, 1949, in LaCrosse, WI. He entered the Lori Knapp Group Home in 1973. He participated in Special Olympics for many years competing in basketball and long jump, earning many metals. Michael also enjoyed bowling with his green bowling ball (his favorite color). Badger Camp was always his highlight. He had been attending Camp for many years. He was employed by the Opportunity Center in Prairie du Chien for 35 years. He is preceded in death by his parents LaVerne and Dorothy (Watson) Dahl and his uncle Conrad Jensen. Michael was a very gentle person and loved giving hugs to everyone. He is survived by his sister Shirley (Ross) Harms, his half-sister Joyce (Jay) Goetz, his uncle Orville Jensen, his nieces Ann Galinsky, Renee Hogan, Amy Riley, his nephews James Locast and Chris Leker, as well as several great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, WI. Michael’s final resting place will be at the Moen Cemetery, Cashton, Wisconsin at a later date.
