Norma J. Huza, age 90 of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Great River Care Center in McGregor, IA. She was born September 13, 1930 in Mount Hope, WI, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (Batchelor) Palmer. She worked at National Decorated Metals in Prairie du Chien. She married Walter Curtis and together they lived and farmed in the Patch Grove area for many years. Walter later preceded her in death. She also worked at the Boscobel Nursery, Prairie Maid Bakery, Tony’s Grill, and Tiller’s Furniture Store in Prairie du Chien. She then married John Huza on May 6, 1995. They were married 16 years until John also preceded her in death on June 4, 2011. Norma loved crocheting, donating many crocheted hats and blankets to the hospital over the years. She also enjoyed crosswords, scrabble, sudoku, baking pies, and spending quality time with her good friend Molly and her dog, Friday. She is survived by her children Hazel (Larry) Sonner, Helen (Mike) Laufenberg, Dennis (Faye) Curtis and John (Kim) Curtis; her brother Russell (Judy) Palmer, her sister Ruthie Conley; the family of John Huza; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother James (Ruth) Palmer and William (Carol) Palmer; her sisters Virginia (Waldo) Kane and Pauline (Arden) Parker; and her brother-in-law David Conley.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Union Nagle Cemetery in Patch Grove, WI. A funeral luncheon will be served at the Patch Grove Village Hall following the burial.
