Phil F. Redman, age 90 of Patch Grove, WI passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI. He was born in a cabin on Dark Hollow near Millville, WI on July 23, 1932, the son of Floyd and Lola (Oates) Redman. Phil grew up on the family farm on Campbell Ridge where he helped his father with logging and other pertinent tasks. His love of horses stemmed from logging work. His post-secondary education was cut short with the untimely death of his father, at which time he returned home to run the family farm and assist his mother with raising his 2 younger brothers. Phil married Evelyn “Whiz” Quick on January 26, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Patch Grove, and together, they raised their 5 children in the Patch Grove area. Phil worked as a supervisor at the 3M Company in Prairie du Chien for 33 years until retirement. He then focused primarily on farming and raising grandchildren. He loved traveling with his wife and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting for ducks and deer and riding his 4-wheeler around the farm. Every day included stops at local gas stations for a cup of coffee. Phil’s wife Whiz preceded him in death on November 29, 2021, after 66 years of marriage. He is survived by his children Terri (Mike) Wood, Tim (Terri Jo) Redman, Mick (Sue) Redman, Dixie Toberman, and Shawn (Shelly) Redman; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his 2 brothers Jerry and Dick Redman.
