Phyllis Ann (Gilkes) Slaght

Phyllis A. Slaght, age 84 of Wauzeka passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Vernon Manor in Viroqua, WI. She was born on September 22, 1938, the daughter of Charles and Lula (Yost) Gilkes. She grew up in Wyalusing Township and attended the local school there, where the Dew Drop Inn currently stands. Phyllis worked at Advanced Transformer in Boscobel, WI for many years until retirement. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Steven (Vicky Caya), Lori (Ralph) Dalton, David (Cheryl), Jerry (Tammy Walther), and Scott (Sherri Leamy); 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her children Corie Slaght and Ilene Aspenson, and her siblings Kenneth Gilkes, Glennis Whitish, Edward and Terry Gilkes.

A Memorial Visitation will be Monday, January 2, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien where there will be a wake scripture at 7:00 P.M. Private inurnment will be in the Bagley Cemetery at a later date.
