Obituary
Robert A. Check, age 92 of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on the family farm in Prairie du Chien on September 1, 1929, the son of Frank and Amelia (Slama) Check. Robert married Jeannette Muchia on May 12, 1954, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, WI. Together, they raised their family in the Prairie du Chien area. Robert drove a school bus for the Prairie du Chien School District for many years. He took great pride and joy in his Minneapolis Moline tractors and shared that love with his children and family. Robert was an active member of St. Wenceslaus Church in Eastman. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jeannette; their children Rodney (Marlene) Check, Sharon (Dennis) Paulus, Greg Check, and Laurie (Carl) Wall; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren with two on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arnold Check and an infant brother Joseph Check.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, WI, Rev. Rajendran Anandan concelebrating with Rev. Thomas Huff, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
