Ronald Ingham Obituary

Ronald Edward Ingham, age 82, of Prairie Du Chien, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022, at home with his family by his side after a brief illness. He was born December 30th, 1939, in LaCrosse, WI, the son of James and Mary Eleanor (Crowley) Ingham. He attended schools in Boscobel, Madison, and Prairie du Chien and spent much of his youth on the Ingham farm in Seneca, WI where he learned the value of hard work and grit. He also survived a difficult bout with polio and the loss of his father as a teenager. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Mason on July 29, 1961, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McGregor, IA.  Together they raised four children in Georgetown, IL and built a beautiful life together. He worked a variety of jobs; from the railroad, to sales, and even creating his own businesses; Ingham Frozen Foods and RC Mowing. As empty nesters Ron and Carolyn moved to Madison for a number of years before retiring and resettling back in their hometown area of Marquette and Prairie Du Chien. They loved being in the outdoors together; boating on the Mississippi, taking their RV on trips to Maine to visit their grandchildren, and taking scenic drives on the bluffs and coulees along the river. Just a month before their 60th wedding anniversary, his wife passed away June 8, 2021, and his heart was never the same. He is survived by his daughters, Paula (Jim) Ingham-Bourque, Kalina (Steve) Ingham, Angie Ingham and his grandchildren Bailey and Casey Bourque who were with him to the end. He leaves two siblings, Candy Ingham and Randy Ingham and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, his son, Mark Ingham, his mother Eleanor, his father James, and several siblings (Bernard Ingham, Mary Lou Ackerman, Joanne Williams, Jerry Ingham and Gene Ingham.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the summer when family and friends can gather together.
