Russell W. Eulgem age 84 of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, IA. He was born July 12, 1936 in Eastman, WI the son of William and Hazel (O’Brien) Eulgem. He attended Eastman Elementary School and later graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1954. He played trombone in the school band and was a member of the Eastman Cloverleaf 4-H Club. He married Patricia Michel on August 8, 1956 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. To this union one son Mark was born followed by precious grandchildren, Kent and Jennifer.
Russell drove truck for Dan Boom and was a station attendant at Red Huser’s Mobil Station. For 38 years he worked for Blackhawk Milling, Crawford Farm Supply and Farm Service where he sold feed, fertilizer chemicals and farm seed. He continued to sell seed corn after his retirement with his close friend Greg Quick. Russell was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting big game; elk, deer, antelope and turkey in Wyoming, Montana, Iowa and Wisconsin. He especially enjoyed time spent with his son and grandson in the woods at the farm. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Patricia, his son Mark (Pam), his grandchildren, Kent (Amanda Otte) and Jennifer (Duane Breuer) along with his great grandchildren, Jase, Lexi and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien.
