Ruth A. (Waraxa) Harris

Ruth A. Harris, age 96 of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 28, 1925, the daughter of Victor and Mary (Whittbrod) Waraxa. She graduated high school in Milwaukee and moved to Bagley, WI. Ruth married William Harris on March 12, 1946, in Dubuque, IA. Together, they raised their family in the Bagley area, where Ruth worked for the local water and sewer department for several years. Ruth enjoyed collecting angels, working with plastic canvas, and arranging flowers. She also enjoyed playing computer games. She is survived by her children Pat, Richard, and Gary (Judy) Harris, and Christine (Larry) Gavin; her two brothers Victor and Robert Waraxa and her sister Agnes Fingland; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years William, and her parents.   

A Private Graveside Service will be in the Brodtville Cemetery in Wyalusing Township, Grant County, WI.
