Thomas J. Kozelka

Thomas J. Kozelka, age 84 of Prairie du Chien, WI passed away peacefully Friday, October 22, 2021, at home surrounded by family.  He was born June 6, 1937, the son of Ralph and Albina (Balk) Kozelka.  Thomas graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie du Chien.  Thomas along with his sister Marie Wall and brother Richard Kozelka managed Kozelka’s Men’s Wear and Western Wear for many years.  Thomas married Janet Obmascher on May 19, 1959, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien.  Thomas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet, their children, Judy (Steve) Sagedahl, Gary (Arleen) Kozelka, Lisa (Tom) Dyer, Linda (Mike) Heal, Michele (Kyle) Pattison, his grandchildren, Chas and Brytta Sagedahl, Ryan and Jamie Kozelka, Jonathan and Joshua Dyer, Adam (Katie) Heal, Kelly (Adam) Gagliardi, Cole, Courtney, and Caitlin Pattison, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, and his sister Marie (Joseph) Wall.

According to Thomas’s wishes, a Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with interment in Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.  The family would like to thank the staff of St. Croix Hospice for the care given to Thomas and his family.  The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
