Thomas F. Smith

Thomas F. Smith, age 67 of Highland, WI, formerly of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Prairie du Chien on September 30, 1955, the son of Francis and Dorothy (Woods) Smith. He grew up in Prairie du Chien and attended Prairie du Chien High School where he was active in track and field as well as basketball. Tom graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1974. He then started working for Quality Beverage as a beer distributor and he stayed with the company until retirement after 48 years. He enjoyed playing beach volleyball, spending time on the river, and going fishing. Tom met Esther Hambach in 2016 and they later lived together in Highland, WI. They enjoyed traveling together to the Northwoods of Wisconsin where they would rent a cabin and enjoy the scenic nature of the area. Tom is survived by his life partner Esther; his siblings Peggy (Tom) Schreck, Larry Smith, and Lori (Dave) Hemmer; his step-children Josh and Tinea Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sharon Nolan and Patty Miller.

According to Tom’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.
