My sympathy and prayers to his family. Jim was a fixture in the history department at PDC for many years, a good teacher.

Thank you for acknowledging that. How brief our days are. They truly are numbered. Over the years I've heard from so very many former students that Mr. Jacoby was their favorite teacher. He left a quiet mark on many, and he chose to slip away from us suddenly and quietly as well.

Thank you Shelley. Mr Jacoby lived here 40 of his 24 years and gave 30 years to the history department. Our best times were the early years when he was strong and able to give it his all!
I sure do miss those good years! We had lots of laughs and he so enjoyed teaching back in the day!

Mr Jacoby was my high school history teacher at Prairie High. He was a great teacher and made learning history fun for us who really didnt like history. May your family be comforted knowing he taught and touched many people's lives throughout his teaching career. May he rest in peace.

Thank you so much for your kind remembrance of Mr. Jacoby. He was a champion for those who needed one and understood that many of his students needed some humor to catch their interest. Maybe you were in those lectures back in the day when he so enjoyed teaching about the old West and Custers Last Stand while wearing the arrow thingie on his head??? Those were the fun years that he loved best!

Thank you John and Jo. I'm remembering many good times forgotten from the 30 years of his career. Jim was so strong and full of life. Time took its toll too soon. Our little family is hurting.
