Prayers and thoughts of Lola and the rest of the Child's family and friends!

I met Ray through Vicki and enjoyed seeing him when he stopped in to see us in Madison many years ago.

I have fond memories of a wonderful Sheriff and family man!

Thinking of you all today! God bless!

I met Ray at the Wisconsin Sheriffs & Deputy Sheriffs Association winter conf. in Madison many years ago, Sheriff Childs was our President and we became good friends. Ray was a true law enforcement officer. He was a true leader, who guided our Ass'n threw some tough times. He, truly will be missed and his steel grip hand shake.

LOLA & FAMILY

RAY WAS A MAN'S MAN. A HEART AS BIG AS ALL OUTDOORS. A SMILE AS WIDE AS THE MISSISSIPPI. HANDS OF STEEL. A HUG THAT MADE YOU FEEL SAFE. TENACIOUS AS THEY COME. NOTHING THAT HE COULDN'T FIX.
HIS JOURNEY ON THIS EARTH IS OVER. NOW TO BE WITH HIS BELOVED SAVIOUR JESUS HIS LORD!

WHAT IS A GENTLEMAN...A man that's clean inside and out,who neither looks up to the rich nor down on the poor, who can lose without squealing and who can win without bragging, who is considerate of women, children, and old people: who is too brave to lie, too generous to cheat and who takes his share of the world and lets others have theirs.

This was on the back of your Father's business card he gave to my Dad back in the 60's. I remember my Dad saying this is Ray Childs a true gentleman.

My Dad carried this in his wallet until the day he died.

So sorry for your loss.

Thank you Dana. We appreciate your kind words. Dad was a gentleman. He never met a stranger he didn't like! Thank you and all the volunteers that were there for my dad on December 31st. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful Rescue Squad program with all their great EMT's.

So sad to hear of Ray's passing.
