Richard D. Stluka age 84 of Ferryville passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 20, 2017 at his home.  He was born May 20, 1932 in Lynxville, WI the son of Frank and Helen (Benoy) Stluka.  He married Joyce Pitzer in 1951, who later preceded him in death.  He was married to Judy Alexander and they later divorced.  He married Janice Burrow White on June 20, 1981.  Richard worked as a fork lift operator for General Motors in Janesville, WI until his retirement in 1985.  He played the drums for the Vern Meisner Polka Band and the Ronnie K Phase II Band.  He enjoyed golfing and fishing.  He is survived by his wife Janice of Ferryville, his children, Eva (Michael) Kohls, Helen (Robert) Simon and Bob Stluka all of Janesville, Sandra Franklin of Thornton, CO, 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Richie and Dick, a sister Doris Linder and one grandchild.

A memorial gathering will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, WI, with a time of sharing at 10:30 AM. A luncheon will be served at the Lynxville Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ferryville First Responders,170 Pine St. Ferryville, WI. Special thanks to friends Al and Sandy Kirchner and Ron and Diane Lawrence. A memorial service will also be held on Richard’s 85th birthday, May 20, 2017 at his daughter Eva Kohls Home, Edgewood Dr Janesville WI.
